Tristan Blue

Originally cutting his teeth in Minneapolis and Milwaukee, Tristan Blue is now a local singer-songwriter who blends Irish Trad and Americana into fast-paced acoustic energy, with both Celtic and Bluegrass undertones. Tristan Blue’s unique, one-man band sound is created through his use of string plucking, harmonica wailing, and foot stomping.

TC Chantler

Jason Hedler

Jason Hedler

January 17th, 6-9

TC Chantler is a Southern Minnesota native with deep musical roots in the Mankato area—the nephew of local legend Paul “Putter” Durenberger and guitarist Louis Durenberger. After cutting his teeth on the Northwest circuit in his twenties, TC lived in Montana and toured through the grunge era with Shag Harbor, earning “Montana’s Best Band” honors three years running before joining the nine-piece honky-tonk outfit Johnny Steel and the Decline of the West.

Now back in Minnesota, TC is a familiar solo presence in small towns, Hanska and New Ulm, known for heartfelt acoustic playing, a raspy whiskey-and-cigarette voice, and a sharp sense of humor. He’ll likely know your request—and if you heckle him or the staff, expect an improvised song at your expense. Think folk singer meets stand-up comic meets failed rock star… and undeniably entertaining.

Helder has been playing music for over 25 years. His major musical influences include Bob Dylan, Bruce Cockburn, and the Waterboys. With a folk/rock/emo style that is all his own, Jason seeks to create music to make people think and feel. Catchy riffs and danceable tunes form a backdrop for serious social and political commentary.

Join us on January 31st from 6-9 at Turner Hall in New Ulm to experience the music of singer/songwriter Ben Scruggs. This talented folk/blues/Americana musician hails from Mankato, Minnesota, and has been described by the Mankato Free Press as 'folky, fun and eclectic.' Ben accompanies himself on acoustic guitar and blues harmonica, weaving tales of folk-spun humor and hard luck times throughout his sets of all-original music.

Feburary 7th 6-9

Long-time musical collaborators and close friends, Pete and Dave play a lively and loose variety of offbeat folk tunes, old country, alt country, classic rock, and original songs. And they have plenty of good fun doing it. Powered by acoustic guitar (or two), baritone slide guitar, two vocals, and occasional banjo.
